Education

Katie holds a Master of Social Work degree from Western New Mexico University, where she also completed graduate certifications in Military Family Social Work and Rural Communities Social Work. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Economics from California State University San Marcos.

BACKGROUND

Katie has worked with children, adults, and families across diverse settings, including child welfare, hospital emergency departments, community mental health leadership, and private practice. In these roles, Katie has provided clinical assessments, crisis interventions, grief support, case management, and ongoing therapy for those navigating complex emotional and life challenges.

PRACTICE

In her practice, Katie works with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, identity concerns, and life transitions. Her approach is integrative and talk-based, drawing from psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral (CBT) frameworks, internal parts work, and values-based exploration. She also incorporates dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills, exposure therapy and somatic practices when helpful, supporting clients in building awareness, confidence, and emotional resilience.
